Abstract
this article presents the author's judgment about the necessity of increase of requirements to the educational process in Russian Universities on programmes that train specialists in the field of recreation and tourism. The author notes that the events of 2014-2015 are not sufficiently reflected in the literary sources underlying the training of students and insists on updating of educational materials in the shortest possible time.
