Abstract
In the article the problem of development of skill of reading of scientific and technical literature without the translation is considered. Need of stage-by-stage formation of the specified skill is noted: from skill of reading of the adapted works of fiction without the translation to reading of literature in the direction of training without the translation in the original. The difficulties arising by training in reading without the translation, and ways of their overcoming are analyzed.
