Abstract
This article analyzes the characteristics of formal and non-formal education. The possibilities of integration of formal and non-formal educational programs in the implementation of international student projects are shown. Theoretical positions are supported by the example of the project in the technical design, that carries out within the program of strategic partnership of Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University and Leibniz University Hanover.
