Abstract
The study aims to examine the rate of forgetting the teaching material at students with different levels of performance. In analyzing the essence of the concept of «forgetting», the basic mechanisms and forgetting factors was determined. Analyzed the stage of forgetting in educational activity, characterized not only by the amount of lost information, but also qualitative indicators of types of errors. The article presents an empirical study to determine the rate of forgetting the students based on their academic performance (fitness level). Recommendations for students to reduce the rate of forgetting.
