Abstract
In this article the author reasons ambiguous understanding of the term "student-centered learning" and its identification with "personality-oriented learning". The author also provides different perspectives on student-centered learning, student-centered education, student-centered education in modern national psycho-pedagogical literature, leads the obstacles to its realization in modern public school, examines the prospects for its realization in the system of private education.
