Abstract
The article proves importance of individual students’ work as a component of their linguistic training in the institute. It reveals the principles that help make this process maximally effective. Particular attention is paid to the role of teacher and using authentic materials as well as telecommunication technologies. The novelty of this article consists in viewing the process under study in the context of linguistic training, which unlike linguistic education bears a purely practical character.
