Abstract
The article describes the possibilities of the historical approach in the training of teachers of physical culture. Courses "Theoretical Pedagogy", "Practical pedagogy", "Methods of educational work", "Historian Pedagogy and Education" determine the quality of professional pedagogical preparation of students of pedagogical high school. In the structure of the productive use of the historical approach, one of the most urgent tasks is to clarify the task of categorical apparatus of modern pedagogy. The paper presents updated model categorical apparatus of pedagogical knowledge.
